Why love stories?

Well ain’t love what it is all about? I mean in the end we all want to find that one person who loves us regardless. right? In general the shows that I love don’t really show that part of life it is usually only about their professional lives as crime fighting ass kicking women. But seriously name one of them who seems to have a loving relationship outside of the office? Just one … that is all I ask? Can’t do it right? Well neither could I and that kind of bugged me, if love is what we all seek for in life then why are we not seeing that in our ‘rolemodels’ on the television? So when I started writing often unintentionally love became the main topic of my stories.

Why the f*ck would you write a novel in a month?

Easy answer:  Because it’s fun!

Long answer:  Because you have to push you limits, I have been writing for a long time. And while I don’t necessarily aspire to be an author I do take my writing serious. And I had read about Nanowrimo before I attempted it, in 2008 I wanted to participate but I didn’t feel confident enough. In 2009 I talked about it with a close friend and she said that she wanted to try it too. So between the two of us we talked about it, so we signed up and went to the kick off party here in the Netherlands. It was great, I loved it. I was so pumped to start writing and okay you are supposed to write fiction I did write fanfiction.

In 2009 I wrote a crossover between Criminal Minds and NCIS and I called it ‘Of past rejection and future loyalty’, it’s a femslash story where Emily Prentiss and Ziva David have a past and a case that is put on NCIS’s desk needs the attention of BAU team. They are called in to work together on the case which means that Emily and Ziva will be in the same room for the first time in fifteen years and they left a lot of things unresolved between them back then so bring on the drama.

In 2010 I used a really old prompt which I at one time wanted to use for a CSI fic and decided that it would work better for a Criminal Minds fic. The name of this story is ‘Forces of Nature’. It’s a case fic as well as a romance fic, and at the moment that the story starts JJ is living with Will and Henry, but while things on the outside look wonderful their relationship is not that good. A difficult case changes a lot of things. Meanwhile Emily has secret that she was supposed to take with her to the grave.

What is Nanowrimo?

I could explain it to you but this is what the official website says; National Novel Writing Month is a fun, seat-of-your-pants approach to novel writing. Participants begin writing November 1. The goal is to write a 175-page (50,000-word) novel by midnight, November 30. Source: Nanowrimo
