This weekend has been great, I think that all in all I wrote about 5000 words and in those 5000 words I went through some really important scenes. The basic plot line has been written. Let me explain this in a better way, I saw/heard someone explain a story as a series of isles. And they said that a story consists of big isles which are the big plot points and smaller once in between, you could sorta see them as step stones. To get from one big isle to another one. And now I am working on the step stones and adding to the big isles.

So far there has been no stress, the writing is just flowing from my fingers. When I sit down to write the words just appear as my hands fly over the keys. It’s going so much better than last year, and last year I made it…

So week two the dreaded week two was here, and it started out really dreadful at least for me it did. The words just wouldn’t come but I wasn’t worried and why would I be I was ahead of my game anyway. And I was sure that I would be doing fine. I just needed to overthink some things before I continued writing. And I did so Tuesday was going to be a lot better.

And yet I didn’t write much on Tuesday either. I went to a write-in, the one in Tilburg in the library and while it was fun I also found out that it is not for me. I only wrote a mere 1000 words, but I have to say that I am writing by hand since I don’t have a laptop. And by hand it goes slower, a lot slower. Besides that I loose my concentration way too easily if there are people around me. So I am not sure if it is a good idea to participate in write-ins maybe I should give it another try but I am not sure yet.

The only upside about the 1000 words I wrote at the write-in is that when I started writing it out I  made at least 3000 words because I kept adding details to the earlier written scenes. I think that the story became more fleshed out because well it actually was  more worked out version of the first draft. So I guess looking at it that way the write-in was a success. So I am not sure what I will do next time a write in comes along …
