I wrote 300 words today!

Let me explain that, I wrote 300 words for Nanowrimo today, but I wrote a full +1500 word review for Grey’s Anatomy’s latest episode ‘Slow Night, So Long’.

A very loaded review because it was a strange episode to watch, first because of the whole Alex/April thing last week and the fist fight between Alex and Avery. And secondly Callie and Mark and the infamous ‘Sloan Method’, so annoying. It was something you could see coming from afar, you knew it was going to happen and still it sucked.

Down here you can find some of the things I wrote on my review,  because in my humble opinion some things didn’t quite add up;

After watching this episode. all that came to mind was ‘why, why, why?’ I was surprised by the way Alex, April, and Avery seemed to be completely over their issues. Last weeks episode, as I stated in my review, was one were Alex crossed a line with April. And Avery was so mad at what happened that he and Alex got into a fist fight. This episode seemed to take place directly after the last. And there was no sign of resentment between the three. I just don’t get that. It disappointed me. I had not expected that.

I really didn’t get that. I am baffled by the fact that the issue wasn’t revisited. And then of course there was the whole thing with Callie and Mark and the infamous ‘Sloan Method’.

The second thing that annoyed me was about Callie and Mark. No pun intended but it was like watching a train wreck and not being able to look away. You knew that it was going to happen, and it blew away any sparkle of hope I had of Callie and Arizona getting back together. Apart from shows which are basically written as ‘LGTB shows’ (for instance Queer as Folk, The L Word or South of Nowhere) it is hard to find any out gay/lesbian/bisexual characters. When Sara Ramirez was added to the cast of Grey’s Anatomy, I hoped that she would be gay or bisexual. Usually that is just my wishful thinking. At first it seemed to be the case when she fell for George. Her marriage to him ended in a divorce and there was suddenly Erica Hahn. And I was so happy about that. But soon that relationship fell apart, as well.Callie was a wreck, despite that this awesome woman, who was so cute and girlish and so different blew Callie away. And not just Callie but many fans of the show too. And the comments made on internet and twitter about Calzona have been so positive, fans have been so thankful towards the actresses and the writers. It just makes it all seem so weird to wreck that. I know that it is a drama, but I really doubt that there will be a happy ending. How can Arizona trust Callie if every time a bump in the road appears she runs to Mark? I am aware that technically they are not together at this moment, but I doubt that Arizona will see it that way. I know that a lot of ‘Calzona’ fans are very disappointed with this expected twist.

I love this show, but in my opinion this last episode was nowhere near satisfying.  Anyway I have been busy writing that review and it took all the time I had for writing today. So a mere 300 words were all I did for Nano today. But no worries, I’ll be back!
